Back, for now...

Happy Thanksgiving weekend! I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable weekend.
I think my New Years resolution will be to give this blog the attention that I intended to give it when i started it. I will try and get back next week with some new projects I have been working on. Until then here are some cards I have created in the last few months. I am afraid I don't remember the products I used on most of these. Sorry.

Kitty Cat Book Marks

I made these little corner bookmarks as a donation to Animal Outreach to sell at the Annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser. Although it was a couple months ago I wanted to share them. All my bookmarks sold and made money for the organization! :) I used a couple different kitty papers from my stash and copic markers. I am afraid I don't remember who made the stamp, I got it out of a bulk stamp bin at an expo this past summer.

New Project-Caitlin's Banner

I just completed this banner that I made for my Goddaughter Caitlin. The banner fabric is actually a canvas book by Maya Road. Each one is sprayed lightly with a different color of Glimmer Mist then I sewed on a piece of paper cut from the Sizzix Banner die cut. Each one has it's own 'personality' with different embellishments.

Back with a new card!

I love this new card I made. The phrase stamp is by Tim Holtz, the background paper was found in my stash, the girl stamp is from The Greeting Farm, the raindrops are from Michael's and she is colored in with Copic markers. I also added glossy accents to the umbrella.

I also tried this card coloring the girl in black and white (grays) to make the pink umbrella stand out. I think it turned out well but it would have been stronger if the umbrella was in red or yellow.

I sure hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day Weekend.
Be back soon...promise!

Sorry...

I haven't been around much, things have been so crazy. Work is hectic and I have been working so much. Plus my stepfather passed away so I have been dealing with that.
I have some projects in progress and some new cards so I will share them soon.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

Later.

Fairy Cards

Back, sorry for the delay. It's been a pretty low key summer but i have been working a lot! Yesterday i photographed a wedding, i will try and share some images later.
Here are a couple cards. The Fairy stamp is from Sweet November, isn't she adorable?

I am sorry but i can't remember the paper line for this one, colored with Copic markers, big Prima flower and Glimmer Mist on her wings.

With this card i alcohol inked a piece of a Quickutz metal sheet and then embossed it with the Celtic Knot embossing folder. Also used Copic Markers, Prima flowers and Glimmer Mist.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer, I'll be back soon...promise!

Card for my surgeon

About 2 months ago I had surgery for a tumor on my Perotid gland. Everything turned out great because I had an amazing surgeon. I made this card for her as a small token of my appreciation.

I used:
Heidi Swapp Butterfly Mask
Glimmer Mist
Tim Holtz Sizzix butterfly die
Basic Grey Rub-ons
Thank you stamp, flower (folded in half), gems, black shimmer card stock, patterned paper.

New Cards

Here are three new cards I made as Thank You cards for dear friends who were so kind to me during my recovery (after a surgery I recently had). I used the Thank You embossing folder by Cuttlebug as the background and the stamp is by CC Designs. They're simple but sometimes I like cards that way. I am still practicing with my Copic markers and having a great time.
Thanks for looking!

Lazy day off & some creative.

Happy Thursday afternoon! It has been one big lazy day off. I had planned on doing some cleaning or creating in my craft room but that hasn't happened and i still have to do laundry! YUK!

I made this for my mother for Christmas. Her and my stepfather both retired from the post office so when i saw this stamp i had to do something with it. The image is colored with Copic markers and stitched around the outside. Hope you like.

Cat and Card

Hello, first i am very excited to share that Animal Outreach in McHenry had 8 adoptions this weekend (my husband Joel is one of the adoption counselors). One of the adoptions was our foster Summer (sorry so far away, this was taken early on when she didn't like us getting too close). We still have 4 kittens in our foster room, photos to come soon.

I thought i would share one of my Thank You cards that i made for one of my amazing friends who thought of me while i was healing after my surgery. I was so lucky to get so many beautiful flowers, cookies, gifts and well wishes.

This is a C.C. Design from All that scraps.
Paper-KI Memories.
Flowers-Prima
Copic Markers

And one with black hair.

Have a great day!

I 'think' I'am back...

It's Sunday morning and I am sitting on the couch in my pajama's watching Jurassic Park. I have been thinking about getting back to blogging and decided today was the day.

The last 8 months have been, well, interesting.
Joel has been out of work now for almost 2 years, my job is going very well, but i sure wish we were busier. I had surgery a month ago to remove a tumor from my Perotid gland under my right ear. That was not fun, but I survived and am on the mend.

I haven't done a lot of creative projects (just haven't been in the mood) but I think I am back to that, too. I have discovered Copic Markers and I am in love. Lot's of card making going to be happening here.

I promise to share some samples soon.

See Jenn, I told you I'd be back eventually!
