Auntie Em, Auntie Em...

Quite an interesting afternoon here in our town. We're just sitting here on my day off watching a little TV when a Tornado Warning comes across the TV saying that there is a tornado headed in our direction and would be here in about 15-20 minutes.

We just chilled for a few minutes more then the sirens started going off. We ran upstairs, threw the foster cats in a carrier, caught our cats and brought them all into the basement and waited. Luckily my scrap room is in the basement so we turned on the TV to the weather channel and i straightened up my scrap desk.

It was defiantly a little scary but everyone is okay and we survived. I don't even know if a tornado actually touched down, but there was a sighting. I would prefer to not have to go through that again.

Right now the sun is shining. Stange!

Wedding Card

Here is a card i made for a wedding we went to on Saturday. The groom works at the company that Joel was laid off from. It was a lovely wedding and we really enjoyed ourselves. I will try and post a few photos later.
Not much else has been going on.
Hope all is well with everyone.

White daisy

Hi all!
I just wanted to post this photo i took the other day. Today i am going to Rockford for my nieces bridal shower.
The kittens are truly a handful, much more work than we thought they would be. They are growing and becoming more social which is wonderful.
I've been scrapping our Hilton Head vacation pretty regularly, i will try to post some of my layouts this week...no guarantee, you know how i suck at this blogging thing.

Have a great weekend!

I can't do this...

No matter how i try i really can't make this blog-thing work.
I am posting a couple photos.

The first are the 4 beautiful baby girls we are fostering. We need names, any ideas are welcom.
2. Joel took this photo after a rainfall last week. He is so proud of it i thought i would share.
3. I took this photo at the bridging today (see #4) i just think the colors are so beautiful.
4. Monet had her bridging ceremony today, she went from a Daisy to a Brownie. I am so proud of her.

I'll be back soon...well, i'll try.

I suck at blogging...

I'll be the first to admit it.
I have been so busy lately. Cut backs at work have me working more and working harder. Believe me, i don't mind, but i am exhausted.
I have been doing a lot of scrapping so i will post some of my stuff soon.

Joel and I have been volunteering with the Animal Outreach Society of McHenry County. They find homes for resuced cats, it is such a good feeling to do something that really matters. I love it everytime a cat gets adopted, it gives me warm fuzzies.

Joel has been going every Saturday and Sunday to learn how to do adoptions. He's even done some on his own now. I am very proud of him, he has become so passionate about it.

I'll be back soon, promise.

He's gone.

Spencer

Today has been a tough day. We had to take Spencer to the vet for the very last time. He has been so sick. With his Cushings disease, the diabetes, and the blindness he hasn't been himself. We knew it was time, not that it makes it any easier.

We'll miss you buddy.

Repost of $50 photo...Oops!

I am so new to this Photobucket thing that i accidentally deleted my photos from my album on PB which in turn deleted the photos here. I wanted to repost the $50 photo because i am so proud of it. Plus, it's a funny store (see 2 posts below for full story...if you haven't read it).
Thanks.

Jack in the window.

Hello.
I just wanted to stop in quick and post this photo.
Jack (and the other cats, too) love to sit in my bathroom window and look out over the back yard. I have been dying to catch this in a photograph and today i was able to.

Jack 2

I actually scrapbooked today. I did 4 more layout for our Disney December 2007. I am only about 4-6 layouts away from being done with the whole book. I can't wait.

I will try and share some layouts in the next couple days.

Have a great Monday.

Updated: Jeep in Snow

I thought i would add another photo from our little adventure on Thursday.
It doesn't look too bad does it. Hard to believe we were so stuck that we had to be towed out.

Thanks to everyone who visited and your kind words about the $50 Photograph. I think i will have to frame it, especially now that i can laugh about it.

The $50 photograph.

Photobucket

An interesting day!

My day off, so we decide to get out of the house and head to Woodstock. For those of you not familiar with Woodstock it is a small town not too far from where we live and it is famous because the film Groundhog Day with Bill Murray was filmed there. We decided it would be fun to bring my camera and take some photos of the beautiful countryside. (Insert regret here).

Driving down country road.

Me(Vicky): Oooh, that was pretty.
Joel: Do you want me to turn around?
V: No, that's okay.
J: Are you sure?
V: Okay, yeah, lets.

Turning around.

Pulling off the side of the road. Getting stuck in the snow. And not just stuck. STUCK!
I have a Jeep Liberty. We were STUCK! We couldn't get out.

Not in 4 wheel, not with two big men pushing, not no way, not no how.
Unbelievable...I have never gotten stuck. NEVER. I am freaking out.

We call a tow truck.

Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting.

I decide i am going to go get that dang photo, after all that is what got us into this mess.

The tow truck arrived (he even had a hard time getting us out) and we paid $50 for his service.

Thus, as seen above, The $50 photo.

I didn't really take anymore photos. I was pretty done.

I'm trying to get back to this...

I haven't been around much, i haven't had much reason to blog. Things have been tough around here. Joel has now been out of work for 4 months. My company is doing okay but it is retail and i am always a little concerned.

I was trying to go photo heavy here but for some reason every time i upload a photo i get kicked off line...so irritating. So, here are a few photos and i will try to keep up with this better.
First of all, Happy New Year.

Jack and Catherine say "HI".

I got this shot of a female cardinal on our deck. They are so hard to shoot, they are so skittish, but i am thrilled with this shot.

I made this wreath last month. It is made with non-breakable ornaments and a hanger. I got the idea off Two-Peas, it is a take off of wreaths that Starbucks had in their shops over the holidays.

I guess that is all for now...i will be back soon.

Thanks so much for checking back in.

Have a great day,

Vicky
